Re: How to bake Xgen fur/hair details in Maya
Blender has many disadvantages that Maya does not have. I work in both programs and I can say that Maya is the best program for the 3D character artist. I doubt that xgen is not needed. Given that the new UE 5 does not work with converted hair, i.e. without cards, xgen is revealed at full power. Although to each his own.… -
Re: system specs for substance painter (help me upgrade)
Painter does require a lot of GPU power to be comfortable. I can't say how it reacts with low sys ram or older architecture cpus though. A 1660 will be pretty decent for most uses, assuming it's not completely bottlenecked by other hardware. -

It's a research project, MS do all kinds of crazy shit that never gets released. Last year they showed off gesture recognition based on the Doppler effect and a different method that used electromagnetic noise from appliances and power lines. -

The buzzing sound could possibly be a dying fan or a power cable has fallen against a fan, slowing it down. Overheating could be leading to the freeze up, since it happens when you're stressing the video card it's fan could be the culprit. -

Start off with low level, low risk stuff. Tables, crates, power ups for games. Then do weapons, gear, etc. Then move of to small enviros, enemies, etc. Keep leveling up once you master each level. -

Yeah if you really want to fight the power, just don't watch TV. Ever. I do that, and I buy and find all my music exclusively online from labels that care more about music than profits.
