You know you just make everyone secretly detest you? :P How do you get creative with all the gubbinz and little details? Do you have references, things you keep in mind? Miniatures? Mechanical stuff?
Nice! Although for some reason it seems a little stubby. I know they are like that in the miniatures, but I'm not sure if it's translating well here. Would also love to see some Purity seals on this guy. Can't wait to see it finished and backed down!
dirt and scratches define the shape of an object, atleast the ones at the corners/borders Like drybrushing is used in miniature painting or similar objects, it gives shape to a form which does not have enough definition in the physical shape itself to look like it should
Only decent shot from first tests my new crown graphic. I think messed up developing though since all my negatives came out super thin. Some tilt added to try for the miniature look.
shouldn't have any problem trimming it down to a respectable polycount. for instance, there's no need for the trim on the arches to be modeled - texture that shit. you added a lot of shape detail to those panels on either side of the skull - in the miniature most of them are plane rectangles
Hi everyone! I'm a concept artist/illustrator and want to improve on my zbrush skills to start sculpting figures/miniatures one day. I'll be posting my practice sketches and WIPs here and am open to any feedback/tips on the way. =) My artstation is here.
I think the lighting and the speckling on the material is making it look like a miniature, unless that is waht you are going for. Other than that, yeah just add variations on the roughness, not all of the parts of the ship should have the same roughness, and it should be good to go.
Well if this isn't an argument for taking their classes, I don't know what is. Too bad that the bandwidth available in my country is not sufficient for streamed classes. Excellent work! A question on the chair: What is the miniature grey-scale map on the diffuse texture? AO?
Ooh. thanks for this info. I wanted to sculpt miniatures years ago, but sculpey seemed to really really need an armature, and I had no clue how I was going to cast them. (I obviously didn't pursue it much) This solves all that.
