Just a thought here- does anyone have control over the first post here (can they add new tutorial links)? Or can we have a thread dedicated to just dota2 tutorials that have been made? I've had a couple of questions before and I've always been directed to just look at this thread, but now it's gotten to 185 pages, doing a…
Still picking away at my crystal maiden set, the shoulders and the arms are pretty much done, just have to fine tune the rigging for the shoulders and create the masks I just did my hair normal/texture, and I'm fairly pleased, but I'm not sure if she looks blonde enough. I don't want to make her too blonde so that it's…
That looks great Walgrind, unfortunately I can't offer any help with submitting it as I am completely new to this process as well. In fact I have a question regarding the weighting on the .ma files valve has made available. On some of the characters the weighting is a little off (points being pulled on the left leg when…
Okay so, The problem is, that with this technique you will need to do the skin thingy every time you change something on the model. Thats why you must create the texture first so you know where are the problems. If you will need help with textures, pm me, we can make some deal with renevue share. The model is not bad, but…
My tool to create Dota assets in few minutes evolve! You can now generate a stylized weapon from your artwork, paint with an innovative tool, each color is an ID and is bind to a gradient map. You can also composite your image in one node. And it will like before bake all your maps, save them and generate your lods.…
@Eddy Shin: If you are asking about creating new particle effects, I would stay away from them for the time being. Valve has said they are working on a new particle engine or something of the sort, and has asked us to refrain from using them until then. @Hunter-Killer: For your courier I think you should make some of the…
An ambient occlusion map is the shadows that your model casts on itself, where shadows "pool", baked into an image file. You don't strictly need it, but generally it's a good idea because it makes things a lot nicer looking. How you bake it depends on what software you're using, (googling "baking AO <software>" would…
DotaCinema sent out a written to offer to artists, a TL:DR is basically "You make a set, we will advertise it in our videos but want a cut for it " and they go on to list the amount of views they get per video to interest the artist - this is purely marketing, they don't give feedback or anything you're just creating your…
@Tvidotto @bewsii Thanks for the feedback guys! I definitely see what you mean by the small detail. Seems like knowing how to utilise the masks properly makes a big difference too. I kept on improving on my mask2 quite a few times from where it started but I never rly played around enough with the mask1. Also, there's…
You can't. The skull bones for the Witchdoctor staff are infuriating. They don't actually work on the rig given to you in the workshop page either. If you test anything rigged with those bones, when you do the Death Ward animation, the "skulls" just go completely rigid, ignoring gravity. This is supposedly fixed in house…
