I suggest picking one of this and render it to death just to show future employers that you can provide highly polished work .Right now they are all pretty much the same quality and feel rough and painterly , colored sketches which is fine if I want to hire you for a sketch or concept but for illustration I want to see…
Why do you have a flash thingy for a static images? Burn it. Burn it with fire. (or make very good use of it, but your site is so simple it needs no flash) I also think your thumbnails are painfully small, as is the whole site in general. The content area looks about 550 pixels high, which makes me thing you made it to fit…
The angle of the shadows indicates that the sun is quite low in the sky - near dawn or sunset - but the intensity indicates something closer to noon. The white highlight on the desk in the second image is very odd. I initially assumed that it was a specular, but now I don't think it is. The windows in the second image are…
Thanks :) ! Ah, yes, I uploaded two .tifs with a black and white gradient. http://philipk.net/tutorials/8bit.tif http://philipk.net/tutorials/16bit.tif If you have the nvidia normal map filter you can generate the same normal from each file there. (Like using 9x9 on filter type and a scale of perhaps 128 or so to really…
When I load up the editor everything is fine. If I pan around or switch to immersive this is what happens as I zoom towards an object: I'm zooming in at three stages here, the red books only have a diffuse texture. Close up (bottom part of image) the correct texture displays, but once I move away (top part of image) it…
I really like this scene, it's a big improvement over your previous work (especially lighting), if you don't mind me saying. Couple crits: First image: The wires in the first shot look funny, they're kinked with nothing supporting the kink. Smoke on the right is causing some weird artifacts. the lights on the left also…
Actually pngs can do both specific pixel value transparency (i.e. "the .gif way") and the RGBA style ("the .tga way"). In both cases I still think the user would be better served by Photoshop handling the image the same way it handles every other common format, or at least having an option to switch from the "special" PNG…
thanks for the help everyone :P 1)oks. ill just not use bloom, but it so easier to make it look better lol. And the seam is from my normal ill try to fix that somehow lol. 2) I'm unsure at least on the torso section what to do, because the jacket isn't form fitting its more or less floating. I could bring the waist in, but…
looking great. You have some really nice artwork. I would suggest moving your character art below your Environments / Props / Misc stuff. Just some more specific feedback. The biker final (posed model) game image should be the main focus of the breakdown and thumbnail. It looks the best and yet it's the smallest image. I…
the only way appears to be hard work lol I've been working on my portfolio for about 5 years so don't feel so bad about it. I am sure you will get where you want to be. a few things I can point out on the website that I don't really like (maybe a personal preference ) but I do not like the image borders you have. I think…
