That error suggests that there is no text in the expression pane when you clicked Create. Also be aware that in Python the indentation is part of the syntax so you should use the "Code" BB tags when quoting Python code on polycount to preserve it.
So removing the normal map there are no lighting seam issues? If you apply the normal map in max are you still seeing the problem or is it specifically udk related? I was going to suggest looking at vertex normals for shading errors as well.
you probably froze transforms or deleted history at some point and now they are in different coordinate systems. I would go back in saves (you saved incrementally with an unlimited save amount, right?) until you find the error
Haha! sorry, mate. Looks like a great tool. How does it behave on more complex geometry? I suppose it's similar to adding a chamfer modifier on top of a boolean in Max, but without the normal shading errors. Looks great. :)
Not that I was aware of. I agree it is super weird that that would happen; I've never had an issue like that with anything else before. I'm glad I got it to work again, but that is the most confusing error I've ever encountered.
Makes complete sense! However, I duplicated the main camera and parented (is that how you make a child camera?) it under the main, and followed the rest of your instructions, but no dice. No doubt a case of pilot error somewhere on my part.
In the tutorial i watched on Cgtuts i heard that smoothing cylindrical objects can result in errors in XN. But that was concerning wheels. Im not sure if it would have worked in this situation but i didn't want to try and deal with screwing it up.
Ok, this is like, the coolest thing ever, thank you! Why am I getting this weird smoothing error on the canopy? And how do I make the canopy transparent? It doesn't seem to respond to me adjusting the transparency slider.
Thanks for the help you guys, I got the curve maps baked pretty well. New Update: Almost finished this hand-plane, it has no mesh errors that I'm aware of yet, and I just need to finish texturing.
Thank you for the critique I'll begin working shortly, It's nice having the extra pair of eyes to spot my errors. here are some the reference images I've been using I'll try and keep up the updates today
