To be honest, I don't find these current-gen massively-modular environments very fun or memorable. This is just my personal opinion, but I do kind of miss layouts more like Zelda, where 90% of the level design had a purpose. To me, those were memorable and nostalgic. Fine for 3d, yes. Good enough to seriously start learning 3d? Yes. Great at everything? No. CPU is very weak, anything cpu heavy like baking, rendering, or processor heavy tools in 3d applications are really going to be slow. i5 or i7, i3's are pretty underwhelming. 500watts should be enough power unless your going duel gpus in the future or using a more power hungry gpu like a 980. if you want you could save by going for 16gb's of ram to start and upgrade if you feel it would help.
