Hi EarthQuake, thanks for your response. Yeah the whole mesh is triangulated, I learnt that in substance. I probably didnt explain well enough. The textures have been baked (super baked) in marmoset using mikk. They have been exported and applied to the model and they look very good. The model/s have been rigged, animated…
looks like you're applying that as a bump map in max and not a normal map. Material Editor > Maps > Bump (set to 100) > click None (under Map) > select Normal Bump > under Normal tab click None > select Bitmap > apply the normal there.
Sure thing! Rewrite it for your own needs, i hope it helps others too! What it does is: - set all VISIBLE subtools to highest subdivision lvl - bake all layers per subtool - polypaint from polygroup -message out how many subtools affected p.s.: i decided that decimation must be done by hand per subtool...so i did not…
Science, bitch: the re-bitchening Rods are in the periphery, and have a slower response time (refresh rate, if you will). Their function is to detect peripheral motion and detail at low resolution and tell your brain to center the fovea on the moving object to get a proper look at it with the cones. I'm not sure where you…
Really Nice work Bonewbrew! You're really close, but with a few small tweaks she'll look more lifelike. Here's an animated .gif showing what I believe needs tweaking: -Colour variation in the skin: Upper face is generally more yellowish as there's less flesh there, the nose and cheeks have more red/pink to them, and the…
Hey Kyle. I think the easiest solution for your rig is actually just to parent the meshes to the bones of your skeleton. This will keep things separate and allow you to make changes if you need to easily. Also, since each individual piece will not deform (for armor or weapon pieces), it will animate the way you are…
Hey folks! Thanks for all the excellent feedback you gave during the process of making this piece. Now I consider it done -at least daytime version- and will move to other things (my portfolio needs a one year of work refresh!). Really, thank you for all the tips and tricks we shared along this topic, I feel like I've…
That's pretty cool. Thanks for sharing =) I would change a few things which may or may not speed things up. First up I would change how the leaves and branches are placed. I would use a object painter script to place the leaves and branches. Either Neil Blevins or the Advanced Painter scripts will allow you to paint or…
ok lads sorry I havent updated in some time but Ive been really busy finish up the reel and the recent field promotion of my job (go to the general section to see more details on that) anyway AS I Said before I would begin this new year begining more 2d art to get a understanding to the forms proportions and overall all…
Looks cool. It's like a male Ursula. Just a few suggestions: Try and get more of the weight in his got to sit lower. I recently did something similar for work and most of the artists noted that having the bulk of the weight spread out evenly gives it a more pregnant look. The other thing I noticed was the shape of the…
