No. DDo is for making diffuse (and some other) maps quickly. You can use your baked maps/mesh in it. NDo is for making only normal maps. You can load your baked normalmap into it and you can add more details, or you can make one from scratch. One can totally work without the another.
Hah, I had some problems with the new trilogy but I did like this guy's design and you do stay faithful to it. :) Looking at him, the only improvments I imagine is like in renderers to make him slightly more "organic, squishy" looking, but now I am forcing myself to just add some nitpicks. *Thumbs up*
Heck yeah man! It's going to be pretty fun :) Here's a quick sketch I did just now for the throne, since the Victorian era was so very ornate, I decided to go juuuust a little over the top for the throne. I'll add more gears to it when the actual model is done, mostly because making an animated throne would be awesome.
So I did some work on the low poly. It's somewhere around 840 triangles right now. Any comments on the LP would be much appreciated, I got chewed out last week (partly over my crap LP). Would you guys add any geo for the little placards and drop box? How's the silhouette looking?
I'm one of those people that NEVER jumps right into fresh OS. I did it in the past and it cost me dearly. I'm still on Win 7 and not touching it unless I MUST. 4770K with 16GB or RAM and keep you GPU. Clock it on safe 4.2GHz (add some better cooling) and have fun. That's what I would do.
Hey Wirrexx, I did a quick paint over. First of all, good color variation! One thing you could add is some subtle variation with value as well. I thought the planks are overall too bright. Also try adding cooler color for your shadows to help the form turn! It's an old illustration trick. hopefully it will help. : )
Why did you remove the wheels? I thought they added a rugged sense of purpose and realistic functioning of a car is tough without wheels. Might want to add a few nice knocks and dings to the chassis and intakes too, break up that perfect surface response, doesn't need to be modelled just a normal decal. That engine is…
Man! that looks gorgeous! At this stage I don't have too many critiques, I would say that you have a lot of sofas there, and they look exactly the same. You can easily add colour variation to both the pillows and the sofas, or just to one of them. Play with that :D How did you do the skybox? It looks like Spacescape!
I really like that you lowered the glare on the windows. That was going to be my first suggestion but you beat me to it! 2nd was going to be to add something on front face of church, but you got that too. The only thing I would consider now is lowering the amount of plant life. You did a great job on this, keep up the…
pretty good start, the head is lacking some structure atm , try to get the skullstructure in there first and add in the masses from there on . also the body looks really short with only 6 headlengths did this quick paintover with some suggestions also don't be to quick with hitting the subdivide button and try to get as…
