Leaf on the left i started modelling with a line (red). The support loop was added on the extrusions pointing downwards. Leaf on the right i started modeling with a poly strip. This doubles as the support loop and sits pretty much flat on top. Ther's no right or wrong here but it's good to know the differences so they can…
If your talking graphically, I can definetley see what you mean. But I do think alot of that is coming through the video quality. Like I said, I felt the same with both Arkham's, and Dead Space 2 (among other's) but actually having them running in front of me was a massive difference. If your talking gameplay, I suppose…
Ghaad damn it!! you beat me to it. :( Will this be relevant? Greeting Salutations sir; Would you be kind enough to finish the head tutorial that you've posted on youtube and promised your followers that " There is a third video of this sequence in coming, where I will teach you kids how to distract the viewer with the…
Ah, long time no see, my own little sketchbook.. So, I finally came around to drawing and 3D stuff again, but it's going slow, since I have school again. Anyways; I have made a weapon for a mod me and my boyfriend are working on for Torchlight II. Who doesn't love new weapon models? ^_^…
Great job! have you just started out or have you been doing hand painted textures for a while now? I don't mean to suggest they look like a noob has done them as they look great, I'm just curious because I'm starting out with hand painted textures myself and would like some advise :) I'm no expert but I'm with jimpaw, try…
OHMYGOD BANJO-KAZOOIE I LOVE YOU! :D *ahem* As @Anthy9986 mentioned, the eggs and feathers are a good bet. It looks good, but I think the main problem is that you are not looking at your reference enough. For instance, the brickwork is entirely different in Banjo-Tooie than your scene. And the table is made from a…
Looks to be a great start. The first thing that jumps out at me is the rooftops. You have 3 different colors, and near primary colors at that. It just doesn't feel pleasing to the eye. Your materials, handpainted they are, don't feel like they are all working together on the same mesh. Your stone trim doesn't feel at one…
I am disappoint man, you'l find quite a few of us are Tsutomu Nihei fans and I must say there's a severe lack of his style in here. He excels in organicly styled architecture. Having square blocky envs with stone reminiscent textures is not characteristic of his style. I would suggest creating a theme sheet, take images…
i have to say that i have not "sculpted" much in ndo2, but based on what i messed around with i don't see how you could be faster for creating a floor texture like blankslatejoe posted where each stone has hard bevels with varying sizes and angles on all of it's sides. i've actually tried to get results like that but…
Make your map bigger! Textures always serve a purpose (in this case, learning) so that must be kept in mind when making one! Obviously, the more stones or whatever you have, the less pixels each one will take up. So yes, that's less info for your normal map as well. Think of it this way: if you made this texture with 2 big…
