Worked some more on the spec and such. Feels like i dont really know how to improve it more. So im just gonna start on the invironment stuff now and maybe go back later.
Check the min spec for max and make sure you meet or exceed it. I think it requires a card that has vertex and pixel shader 3.0 capability, if you are on a laptop there is a good chance it is under powered.
Thank you very much, that looks very helpful. I'm not quite sure what spec maps are, nor how to make them. Do I need a certain modeling program to make them?
back from vacation... time some updates 899 tris, 1024x1024 diffuse, normals, specs. this is all screencapped from the 3ds max viewport with xoliul shader materials and some post processing in the viewport
Sure, there are plenty of ways to optimize it but I don't know if I will. The current setup is still feasible on currentgen platforms, and there aren't any specs to optimize towards in the competition so I don't see the point.
Your target tris should be closer to 10,000, and even higher if you can like 20,000 tris. If this is a personal project, push more triangles, unless this is meant for mobile or a really low-spec game.
nice! I love the colors. The only thing that I would change in this is the keg color and spec. Looks to me a bit too shiny. Makes t look like its made from plastic.
@bbob : ya, i have a few holes to fill ha! thanks for the spec advice. @shepeiro : i may duplicate the tank a few times on the scene and test different value ranges. thanks for the input.
Wow, at 1920x1200 and full spec that really is beautiful. I'm going to register and play over lunch - thanks for sharing aesir! I wish I could walk around and shoot 3D models, though.
Hey dude, looking good, I would say maybe look into bringing the specs out a lot more just to get that metal look on some of your objects. Are you working from Concept?
