Ya,you could get rid of that purple shiny skin and work a bit more on a realistic skin and get him rendered with good light setup,probably a strong key light will add a more mood to this. Good job!
Looks a little broad in the shoulders from the front. And you might want to stylize it a bit more. It actually looks too much like a real cat, which is a compliment. But for a statue I'd try and make it look less realistic.
