managed to find some time to continue this - i quickly polypainted bc its easier to see the flaws in the model personally for me and have been working on the body so its one complete shape and subtool now! (apart from the neck flulff cause im trying to work out how to do that)
Day 17 So tired of making wood, will return later when I'll finish metal parts. Also done handle (and yeah, this is also wood) Cleaned up useless and old layers in all materials and continued making main material that will be shared with all other parts. 16 GB of Ram is not enough :(
Alright, so this is a pretty belated update. I probably should have finished doing what I was doing back in the original post, lol. Anyways, this is where I am at now after working on things when I could. Fixed things, learned things, had fun. Now I continue on with it.
Thanks guys. Yes, I do agree with you on the lighting being too even. I'll begin addressing your suggestions and upload some more pictures showing my progress. Thanks again for your input so far. Please continue to list anything you feel could improve the scene.
Hey. I'm continuing the series of monster/creature design I started with the thumbnails previously posted from my research. I'm still dedicating my time to Aaron Sims Creature designs DVD over at Gnomon Workshop, it's been a blast to work on these and learn from the master of Stranger Things. Critiques and comments are…
yeah i wasn't really thinking of edge flow/animation with him and the other kaiju, was just modelling lol. but my more recent models i've been making sure to keep that in mind. so i just create quick skeletons now to check how they deform etc, and then just continue modeling.
For your knight (should you find the inspiration again, ... The shoulder plates and elbow guards seem quite loose. You can tighten up that armor and add something, E.G leather laces, to show how the armor is attached to the knight! Other than that, this all looks interesting. Why didn't you continue?
The max files are all game levels, lots of intances, groups, layers etc, so exporting wouldnt help really. I managed to merge some of the assets that i currently need into a new file without getting the bug. I just continue doing it like that and hope i dont get it again.
If it dosen't feel right then don't use it, bottom line. No reason to re-learn something because it has a different form factor. That being said, retopologizing with PB and continuously dragging out edges feels pretty natural with a tablet. Only time I've felt it really made my work flow faster.
Hi Jerc, if a 2GB card is sufficient for 2048, would 4GB then be best for working with 4096? I am thinking of getting an nvidia 970, but have worries regarding the 4GB models only using 3.5GB, and any potential issues that may cause as I continue to use 4k textures in the future. Thanks in advance.
