A Tau Pulse rifle from the Warhammer 40k universe. First project to learn Modo's texturing and rendering process. Mostly worked from the reference on the Warhammer 40k wiki but had some creative freedom on the scope as they all varied throughout the images.
Freedom of Teach makes a pretty swell anatomy reference sculpture: I'd go as far as to say it's 'handy dandy.' :) Aside from that, it's an ever learning process. Study the skeleton... sculpt it, draw it, etc... and then study the musculature - insertion and connecting points, etc...
I'm going to do the most awesome beast of pure freedom that anyone could possibly imagine. Ron fucking Swanson reincarnated in the world of Thedas as qunari-warrior, who, of course, abandoned those commies and become Tal-Vashoth. Should probably make him even bigger than that.
Ah what a great idea! You have got sooooo much freedom with colour and texture when working with Sci-Fi themed stuff. ( And pink is a very cool colour! :D ) Looking forward to see your WIP!
In my theory they are useful on anything hard surface, that is big enough to make the unique texturing impossible, because of the resolution limitations. Or when you want more freedom - because they can be also used as a kit-bash kind of thing.
Yes, well what ever fits you. We believe that freedom in working hours and creative space results in a better "end product"! please contact me on Skype, I would love to talk to you as fast as possible!
No you can use the amount of segment like now, just make sure the joints have more space to move. See how C has a vertical slot in which G can slide for more degrees of freedom.
