I'd say it's the opposite, if there's more than 20% remaining, you're stealing. And I'd say 20% is pretty damn generous, depending on what it is. The flipside to that might be... you make a model for a game. Later on that model has to be changed a bit and someone else does it. Is the model still yours to claim creatorship?
I picked the high rise apartment near Del Perro, it was only $205,000. I have a $20 Playstation gift card sitting around, if they ever open up the cash shop again I'll splurge on it, I've gotten more than $20 worth of entertainment out of online.
Well, we have to post some differences, people always ask "maya or max" I've heard industries are split up like this between max/maya architectural and visualization industries 80/20 games and TV/Broadcast industry 50/50 Film industry 20/80
Agreed ^ If it's set 20 years in the future, think of how much could change in that time. I'd suggest looking at more reference than just images of the tube, think of films like Total Recall, Blade Runner, 5th Element; all three are good examples of "20 minutes into the future"
I see that there are couple of you that had some type of contact with Houdini in their jobs. I forgot to add to the poll that I'm asking about game companies. Overall, 20% is not bad. Now it would be good to test how much of those 20% is for procedural modeling vs special effects for cinematics.
I feel that, Dado. I've been trying to limit my internet time during the day lately as I find I can lose 20 minutes without even thinking about it. And generally there's nothing I see during those 20 minutes that couldn't have waited until after work.
Hosting should be $10 for a domain and can be anywhere from $20 a year to $20 a month for a basic hosting service. Check out this thread and my post for sites polycounter's use http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1919745&postcount=2 I have a referral link for $10 a year for hosting.
It's an odd marketing message. It seems primarily focused on telling you over and over again how long you won't have to play. It's over in 20 minutes, max! You can end it early by doing X! It probably won't last the FULL 20 minutes! I like the graphical style.
Not so much, but here I'm trying to find the right image of my character. Trying to shape him into his later 20's and earlier 30's. Young teenagers are nice example of a fresh adventure, but sometimes beyond 20's deserves something magical to live for :) Still on my way.
