I've put everything together to see how it looks. Still a few things missing, and I still need to do the belt around the cogs yet too. Apologies to any engineers out there if this doesn't make any sense function-wise, I don't know a thing about engines! -

They can absolutely hinder gameplay. Anytime graphics get in the way of controller response, frame rate, player visibility, or any other key function of the game, they can hinder hinder game play. One thing to keep in mind is 3d models, and textures are supporting cast members in a game, they are not the star. -

Also you can try baking AO into vertex color. http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Ambient_occlusion_vertex_color If you use the VertexPaint modifier in 3ds Max, you can use the Blur function to soften the hard transitions. You can convert vertex color into a bitmap using Render To Texture, or Xnormal. -

I'd paint the pores using the 3d functions in photoshop to paint my bump map direclty on the model - or do the same in mudbox or Substance painter Zbrush should be capable of doing that aswell just paint it in 3d to avoid UV issues, then export and convert the painted bump map to a normal map -

YYYEEEAAAHHHHH!!! I love Love LOVE what you did with her shorts/swim trunks! They look so much more functional and a lot less rigid. Your faces are getting a lot better man, this is a really dynamic drawing! I just noticed the gills on the ribcage, that's cool too. -

Whoa that is one seriously function skin shader you have got there Ace, do you want to trade? lol I must ask, what all of the effects such as the Chromatic Aberration have on the performance of your shader? Have you managed to test it against in with different types of lighting etc? -

For SP? I imagine not unless you do some behind the scenes wizardry. Some sbsar will not function correctly inside of painter unless they are in the correct category. If it's image files I don't see why it would cause an issue. However painter does separate textures and materials by default in it's shelf. -

I totally went the other way to the rest of the poeple and went for 1-3 or 4. IMO their outfits make 'sense' to me. A military guy is usually well tidy and functional. I like the gear and body armour of 1 and 8 but think the hair on 1 makes more sense to me.
