Are you going for a stylized character or realistic character? Either way right now your neck is a bit to long. And it looks like she is doing a duck face or something, it would be good if you could relax the mouth a bit.
Ambient Occlusion in UE4 already affects specular properties. That's not to say you couldn't still do it. It'd just be pushing the boundaries of whats realistic and correct. You'd also probably not want to do it only in the spec, but roughness as well.
I don't think this calls for anything realistic in the painting. I'd go for a very simple cartoony style. Forget anything detailed. It's just going to look wierd with the cartoony nature of the concept. Simple shapes and only hints of shading if that.
@larryrttrivette I guess you are right.. even if I want to create unique version, It should be looking like gun. At least, I should create a realistic gun and then paint it like a REAL LIFE hello kitty gun.
Studies and finished drawings! Proportion (not necessarily realistic), perspective, form, and observation are still the lifeblood of art no matter what your style is, and you can only take those skills so far without drawing from observation.
very nice one tiny crit- dont make the glowing signs flat colour...add in some hint of the lighting behind it...always looks cooler IMO if not that realistic for the future like- and maybe back lit cool aswell
This I do like. Since most of your past work is realistically rendered, do you think you'll go with a more stylistic texturing approach this time? For some reason the entry sounds like it'd fit in Borderlands.
I kinda like him. He's not in any way realistic, but he has kind of an endearingly rubber monstery look to him, like something you might find in a Godzilla or Harryhausen stop motion animated movie or something.
