awesome stuff man! looks beautifful! the only thing that bothers me a bit is that, in the screen where you see the cliff, everything looks very detailed except the cliff side rock texture, it's clearly less detailed and lower res! you probably won't see it much at that angle but still, maybe something you can improve upon!…
@Tobbo Thanks. I found out about needing wider bevels a little after my high poly was finished  . I think I'm going to take a few days to work on something else and then come back to this and fix up the bevels, fix some of the geometry on the low poly, improve textures, etc. plus whatever else jumps out at me once…
here's some thumbnail sketches I didn't reallize I didn't post them. here's what I did end up going for. I really liked this one because It presented her with the elegance Syndra has while giving off the feeling of contemplation; thinking about if this is the right path, you know every day sorceress things. Here's a…
I have good news and bad news. The good news is I got a new computer, the bad news is that once again I ended up losing a project. Infact I lost two. But tbh it was no great loss when I look back at these screens so live and learn. I now do all my work off a second HDD and back it up to a third so hopefully alls good in…
1.) unity may do that, but it's incorrect on a technical and physical level. Emissive pixels are considered to pass without lighting/shadowing. They can also give off illumination based on their brightness, depending on the engine (and usually they're great in combination with bloom, even if they don't give off…
I've noticed the blue whites thing, initially after correcting the color in my experience has tended to look cooler, but again I think this is due to the natural warm calibration that most monitors have. In my experience its not really that it is actually blue but that it looks cooler compare to the default calibration.…
Well, file sharing has had an impact on the music industry, a positive impact. It has enabled independent artists to bypass the entire recording industry and sell direct to their fans. The recording industry is the only segment that could possibly be thought of as being harmed by this because they have been made irrelevant…
Hey! I'm also a student doing Game Art and you're doing really well! I especially like the metal armour and your study piece. My general advice is work on your fundamentals like anatomy, value and perspective. The warrior's head looks a bit off to me in regards to lighting but I can't seem to pinpoint it for the life of…
I think the biggest improvements you can make to your environment is to sculpt detail into your modular pieces and build your textures off the normal map. Right now everything is drab and bland because all you have is a diffuse map. There's no detail of difference in any of your pieces -- no character. Do some research on…
Gave the maquette a square ground, looks far more presentable now. Created the red bush, it looks alright from far away, but frankly it has such a weird alpha that it looks like a red blur when moving around. Hmmmmmmm. Tomorrow I might redo the opacity/normal in order to make it more visible from further (farther?) away.…
