I got her posed and am now working on finishing up some textures (especially the weapons and scarf). This is diffuse only, I'm thinking of adding a spec but I'm not sure yet.
Finished the modeling/sculpting portion of the Stegosaurus. Tech specs, he came in at 1,600 polygons so pretty well optimized. Next on to UVs and doing some nice texture painting for the creature.
Play around with fresnel masking for your reflections, adding a little transparency maybe with some geo behind the lens, oh and material deffinition is important, so play around with your spec.
Very good work. I enjoy you went with low specs, it loads very fast in sketchfab. My one suggestion might be seen as optional, but it would be even cooler if there was people in it.
random suggestion, try adding some more brightness in the spec map to the raised details on the metal parts. It might catch the light more, and make it pop a bit. See what happens. :)
Just to check it's not the file itself, does this happen with just one Illustrator file or are others causing the error as well? Have you tried opening on other computers with a similar spec to yours?
You dont neccesarily need to use DX11 for the wet street look. High spec, High gloss material with some puddle decals and maybe use a reflection actor for the puddle material.
Huh, I didn't notice that, I guess it does have some spec variation int the pattern as well, I was paying more attention to the faceted pixel look. Thanks kodde.
if you have a firm grasp on how to use a traditional diffuse/spec/gloss, PBR isn't that much different--just more logical really. the two articles on the marmoset site are excellent.
Hey, welcome! Great to see you on here :) What engine are you making this for and are you going all out for a portfolio piece or will you try to conform to some system specs? Cheers
