Erm, by the way I discovered why I couldnt get the golden of the letters in the cover of the green book to shine. I needed to push the golden part of the spec texture over 1...
It does feel flat though, and in reality there is very little true white light sources, but that's fine, I still feel that the spec and all that is not showing, it feels like it's all diffuse atm.
Looking really nice Motenai. Would love to know what's contributing to your lighting layers. Do you not normally bake a light Spec or gradient pass? Is this Ao + bent normals?
looks good so far, the texturing is tight :) However, usually the metal that those cannons r cast of is quite dark (almost black), and they might have some strong spec as well.
Almost done with the base skin texture. Gonna add some spec breaking dirt/marks/tattoos/paint tomorrow and also make a podium and pose him. Hope you like :)
This looks pretty nice ^^ I kind of feel the material could use more spec and less gloss. The armour feels sort of plastic-ish but maybe that is just because of the lighting setting
Apparently it's been confirmed now (with no specs): http://www.slashgear.com/nintendo-confirms-wii-replacement-in-2012-preview-at-e3-2011-25148065/ or http://www.gamersmint.com/nintendos-new-console-officially-confirmed
Cheers jmiles! I tried what you said for the glows and they pop much more now. As for the specularity, I'm planning on having a spec map done tomorrow, hopefully it will be even better then! :)
Not much is going to run on those specs. I'm surprised it can run Windows and PS to be honest. I'm not an expert but there are going to be few, if any, that can run reliably with that little RAM and CPU.
