Hey Barnev, I really like the animations, they are all very interesting and really smooth, good job there! The presentation of the animations (rendering etc.) is really nice as well.. The duration of your reel is way way too long. Over 6 minutes of animation. No HR dude or whoever will look at your reel will spend so much…
Great stuff everyone! Loving the functional printing @AlecMoody, what printer are you using? The smoothness on that abs sanding is fantastic. I've got a lot of prints from over the years but this is pretty good timing as I've just finished up this beast after two months of prototyping: To save the thread load times, images…
a couple things you could try for that chiseled looked -- just go in with slash brush or clay buildup and very messily cut in your peaks and valleys. Run tool>geometry>clay polish with sharpness slider set pretty high a few times. Clay polish does mask the edges it creates so you can use that mask or clear it afterwards.…
Thanks for the clarity I appreciate it. Yeah so what you said makes sense as to why I felt like anything I did atop it destroys it. Essentially it just means finalise the mesh and don't try and make changes after you add in normal layers. Just watching the videos, noted that you're the author - looks like magic tbh. Is it…
@NikhilR Sorry for the late reply. I've been a little busy the past week. Tyler's post is fantastic and I can see where my presentation skills could use some touching up now. His breakdown is sweet and short, and I especially like how he combined the blockout phase into a little gif. I should update my projects with…
I think this is a good start, but it could be something much better! The first thing that really caught my eye was that mirrored texture on the front of the desk, it sort of looks like someone threw some paint on there as opposed to a natural wood grain pattern. Also,I think some base boards on your walls could really do…
I'm not sure if it's a big deal or not, but it required a lot of clicks and scrolling to get to a page related to a breakdown of some of the parts of your environment. The Division fan art, for example (which was amazing, by the way) has a pretty confusing breakdown page. There are like 50 screenshots and a ton of text…
This looks great! I love the overall feel. Only 2 things really stand out to me: Chimp already called this out, but I think the water is a little underwhelming. I like the horizontal lines and the reflections in the main comp, but showing it from any other angle is underwhelming. Maybe a bolder pass at the textures with…
The new version is finally out. As mentioned before it is now part of ShoeBox and will tie in as another tool. The update post can be found here: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2052840&postcount=114 Just to reiterate for the people here what the changes are: The documentation can be found here…
LONG VERSION: Looks alright, only thing i wish i could have seen was more emphasis on the stylized bits. So knuckles having details edge details bones, wrinkles that look like a spiral think of a 6 i like to associate those with gummie bears for some reason (the show). You got it in his belly which i have to say does look…
