Shigeru Myiamoto Peter Molyneux Gabe Newell John Carmack. Gabe Newell is the one that made me think of famous game dev, best one. Peter molyneux is the least recognizable.
Looks good, though i feel like metal on hands could use extra details, at the moment it looks bit too flat and boring. Loving the Deus Ex wibe though! :)
ah yeah, I hate that. **Early in dev pipeline** 'So this character is a background character?' 'Yeah.' **2 weeks before ship** 'Let's bring that character to the foreground. It will make for a stronger composition.' ':<'
Another modo user here checking out polycount. Personally I'm pretty happy with 601, but I hope to see more tools/features geared towards game dev in 701.
Now post something useful, I'm just looking to see if there are any decent communities / projects in XLA dev. Something else I dug up. http://www.dreambuildplay.com/main/Default.aspx
Short answer: Yes. A few folks will drop out entirely (to become professional basketweavers perhaps?) but some devs will naturally gravitate back to creating games and get together to make something.
I'm sure the games will take some getting used to. Watch anybody play DDR for the first time and they look like they are having a seizure. It doesn't mean the game has bad control.
i think its great that your trying so many things. have you seen the gta4 art of book? lots of wireframes in there for the environments, weapons, and vehicles. def worth looking at
