It's available in his profile. Just click his name and there is a link to the website. @Lroy: If I were you I wouldn't give up doing whatever it is you're doing right now. Keep doing new stuff and step it up a level each time. You need contacts so I would recommend going to GDC and what not. Keep applying to smaller…
I know that very well,- its hard to let loose of all the stuff one did but in the end its really all about impression - the first overall impression. And you can better impress with lets say just 10 pieces or images instead of 40 pieces because with less pieces there is a higher probability 2 or 3 will be remembered which…
geez, all ppl i i ask say that 3rd is best... but everybody are drawing bitches in robots! isn't it little bit boring ;p ? i thought combination of women from 40's with something from other dimension could be more interesting than next girl in robot. but ok, i'll draw a little bit moar of 3rd an 5th from born's concept i…
I use a 7950GX2 card (SLI on 1 board). Applications such as 3dsmax, Zbrush or Mudbox aren't built for SLI, so you're not going to get any performance enhancements from SLI. But you'll certainly get performance gains in games. If I disable one of my cards for a given game profile, it's usually 40-50% slower than it would…
Well now that I've though it about it more, you should looks up some artists sites and looks through there bio's and faq's. Often you find what kinda education they had, and how they got into the industry. one of my favorites is www.artbyfeng.com he just oozes with kick ass'ness. As for anatomy, I suggest saving up about…
Hi! Perhaps a slightly old thread, but figured that I should share my findings as a webdeveloper. I agree that it'll have to do with your audience, to some degree. At the moment, I'm seing a huge increase in larger widescreen screen resolutions on the web (at least 1280x800). I still stick at optmizing page width for 1024…
That unwrap is pretty dire mate. You should be focusing on that before texturing. For some reason you keep jumping the gun (no pun intended) and rushing into stuff before the stuff before are nowhere near as good as they can be. You are wasting like a collective 40% of your UV space which is going to result in some poor…
I guess I should have phrased my post a little differently. I'm just speculating from the sidelines, but it seems kinda wrong to imply that one can be paid overtime(by offering it) but then putting conditions on it. My roommate is getting screwed over in what seems a similar situation involving comission. She almost never…
Sorry, this is incorrect. This artifact is 100% preventable and predictable. Whether it was a 40 degree angle or 120 degree angle, having a hard edge on the low poly model without splitting the UVs is what causes the problem in Nate's image. You can get rid of the artifact by either removing the hard edges on the low poly…
I've seen 500GB hard drives for under $100 and 4GB USB sticks for $20-40. Online storage isn't hard to get either. I've pretty much ditched disc media entirely -- it's such a hassle in comparison. Limited space, can't rewrite data, takes up room, easily damaged... I put most of my stuff on my PC HD and external HD with the…
