If you NEED to be employed, I recommend finding a job that respects your hours to a fine needle (none of this "we need you to stay a little after to clean up." etc.), and doesn't creatively exhaust you from making game art. Why would you want to work in a coffee shop though? But if it's just light work you're after then you don't need to invest much cash. Plan you work accordingly, do stuff that doesn't require specialized gear. e.g. modelling, UVing. Then you don't need to lug around the wacom either. Then again I don't really get the appeal… -
