Ah, but you clearly know there's more, because it's getting to you that this is all you're understanding. You need to train your eyes. Look at more art that you admire and break it down. Really force yourself to figure out what's different, even if it means comparing a piece of yours directly area by area. Watch videos of…
Awesome, thanks for the words Justo! 1- The secondary Chamfer, much like nGon solver, is not the 'use-all-the-time' solution too for me, but when I need it it's there. Normally for an object that has a large surface area and detail surface area on the same mesh it kinda help unified the Chamfer width without needed to…
You didn't miss it, and that question brings up a great point that we always try to explain to customers. Digital sculpting can be printed at multiple sizes. You don't always need to have your scale set in your modeling software to the exact measurement for the final. When modeling a 10 inch resin statue or a 8 inch vinyl…
The old pillar tutorial is pretty good, its pretty straight forward when he gets to the sculpting. Most of it is "and then I'm going to do some detail like this" then you watch him futz with it for 20-30sec. There might be more specific tutorials out there, but really I think people who make great cliff faces and rocks in…
Hi, i'm new to this forum and also a beginner in Maya. I've been trying to learn how to UV and retopologize these past few weeks by reading websites and watching some free tutorials on Youtube, but I still have a lot of questions regarding what makes a good topology and UV mapping. My questions are: -Why do we not cut…

For general timing feedback notes one thing I think could help is to hold the anticipation of the punches for slightly longer and decrease the amount of frames between the antic and the hit so it has more impact. Another timing note would be to vary the timing on the punches as they all happen at the same…
Day 21 A head plane study following Follygons process After some helpful feedback I took another look at fundamentals. Will be fun to see how these things translate into the next thing I make after this process. Learned some new tricks with the pinch brush as well on a technique side of things
Good day/evening everyone, today I mustered enough motivation to chase an old dream of mine of making my own proper videogame calling it "project ALT" for now. but before even tackling the drawing board for that one I decided to start a small test project that in order to pickup any missing skills that i might need for the…
I've played it. You don't do a quarter circle to do fireball. you just press down and punch. No Z motion for Dragon punch, you just press forward and punch. It's lame, and I wouldn't recommend it.
Hello Alex, I'm a self taught freelance 3D artist from Sri Lanka. I never stop learning. When I was starting out as a beginner, I had the same problems. What is good, what is bad??? Let me give you an idea from my experience. First decide what do you want to do. First decide whether you want to become a hardsurface modeler…
