Over the last two months, I was working on this Warhammer 40k Plague Marine bust to become more comfortable with collectible and miniature sculpting. Building all these layers of details and digging deeper into the Warhammer lore was a huge fun. Currently, I'm working on the printable version so stay tuned.
Ninjas: You realize that you can just use a bunch of coins or something (round pieces of paper?) instead of official miniatures? Battletech, for example, comes with a few cardboard cutouts. Sure, it looks poor but it's cheap.
Well it is dipped, or tossed in a tumbler (think miniature cement mixer) for 24 hours. I know since making beef jerky was one of my first Jobs :D (I miss having free jerky)
This looks really cool, nice work! Makes me want to do some 40k art too :D btw I like the hand-painted look it's got, almost looks like a real painted miniature!
I like the stretched out proportions, knees might be a bit too high and neck may be a bit too stretched but i like what you are doing here, reminds me a bit of the old Rackham miniatures
Man you've been busy! I love that robot and the Warhammer paint job. I've managed to completely miss out on the entire miniature painting scene. Definitely going to have to give it a shot now :) Keep it up!
Wow, really nice! You really nailed the feel of the materials, and the up-scaled textures add miniature-like style which I like a lot. Looking forward seeing them situations you where mentioning.
The table top game is like that a bit. But that's because 1 inch tall miniatures need exaggerated cartoony proportions and bright colors to make them look strong and powerful. None of the artwork or concepts GW produce is like that.
I laughed myself to tears every time a marionette got shot. I dunno, there's just something about miniature squibs going off in slow-motion on a little marionette that makes me wet my pants.
We are looking for an artist who can polypaint our models/miniatures. The models will be decimated and one single piece. We have literally thousands of models that could use texture painting. So we are looking for a full-time commitment and someone that is very fast!. ** Must provide related images, samples, or portfolio…
