Did some more sculpting today, attempted legs. Again, all the 2D knowledge in the world seems inadequate once you jump into 3D, I'm gonna have to get one of those Freedom of Teach models I think.
Thanks, dude. I hope to one day actually finish it. I think the 'thing' with mechs is to find a balance of coolness and real-working-looking parts. The tolerances and degrees-of-freedom in the moving parts is what takes me so long.
You should model the blade and the handle separately. Modeling objects as they are built in real life not only makes the asset more accurate / detailed, but also gives you more freedom in how edgeloops flow and terminate on the surface.
Same, PC version is what i'm going to get, even if i have to wait another year. That MP looks incredible. And it's such a welcome sight, seeing developers give players the tools and freedom to create their own content.
Thanks, man. I've decided to recreate the garage with some creative freedom. Want to do some dirty old models and shaders for it. Current blockout, but still considering camera angel and how many props I need for it.
So I started making a boat for my scene :) I apologise for how much this has changed if you're just looking at this thread! I never have this freedom at university so I'm just going with the flow!
Oh yes, last update looking a lot more mean and more fitting to the unreal lore :) There are various Skaarj types I suppose so could use some freedom on that areas as long as main shapes are nailed.
mmm; I always saw Video games and comics as a way to kick back against that Hollywood structure. There's so much more freedom in that and the internet makes that even better. IF, of course, I'm understanding what you mean.
Update: @BIGTIMEMASTER I did what you recommended. I started studying the skull and the facial muscles/fat and that literally boosted my freedom while sculpting. Thank you for that precious advice that I haven't considered!
interestingly, isn't it a human right to have access to whatever information you feel is right for you? to be allowed to censor yourself and to have the basic freedom to say "you know what? i won't read that, but that's my choice".
