Walt Disney himself was a republican who hated unions, communists, and jews. Here is some reading about the formation of the animators unions: https://twitter.com/lysandraws/status/1280660242557046784 https://jacobinmag.com/2017/11/disney-animators-strike-union-busting…
Took a break for the past couple weeks to do a 1911. Now I'm back at this. Small update: Basic external blockout. One I do the internal blockout, all of the external mesh will be replaced with panels that will be baked into the normal map. This is just to get the main forms of both the exterior and interior down before I…
Well there is a workaround, simply scale your UVs so they fill the lower half of UDIM 1001 (between 0-1). Then do your texturing, and once you export the textures, open them in Photoshop and crop. If you use UVW xform modifiers and manual canvas size etc in Photoshop, then it's 100% accurate and there is no fiddling…

Hi I was loonking for a wrap around tutorial ... Something that like ... given a cilinder and a long ribbon , you can make automatically wrap around the cilinder the ribbon , so to have something like this .... http://www.darksword-armory.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/@images/1201-gothic-sword-5.jpg…
Not sure if this is the best place to post this, but while prepping to model an M1911 I broke one down and took a ton of photos, and thought some of you may find them useful. This 1911 was carried for 3 years and has some really interesting holster wear on it. Here's all of the full-res images:…
if you use mudbox or udim tags it should load the files fine... you have to name the files correct... for mudbox naming --> texturename_u1_v1 for UDIM --> texturename.1001 http://help.chaosgroup.com/vray/help/maya/150R1/bitmap_names.htm or use this method from neil should also work...…
Hi @ElephantFury . You could add the 1001-1010. Adding the second thing would cause a serious amount of shader recompilation time when you turn them on / off. BTW, UE 4.32 natively supports udims now, through the virtual texturing feature. Go check it out, as my one is obsolete in this case.
thanks guys! just updated to version 1.01 which fixes a rather nasty bug for higher 3dsmax versions (some max internal thingie, had to workaround) which caused actions, e.g. NURMS toggle by keybinding, to not show changes in viewport until you cause a repaint manually (move camera...). Thanks to Warren for reporting!
Wait what. We used a mouse in 3dstudio DOS. IIRC we had to do some goofy trickery with DOS memory and crap. Anyhow I started in whatever version was there in late 1991. Most memorable was moving our pipeline to the first version of Max, from DOS, and doing it mid-project, while outsourcing for Westwood on Blade Runner.…
