@AndrewHelenek: Thanks man! I dunno that my process is really that interesting its just a lot of trial and error haha. Might do a timelapse in the future Made another little dude used an outline this time
hey, yeah I did think of that but for some reason I thought that baking the wireframe to a texture would be a massive ballache... completely forgot about the UV Snapshot feature in Maya. Such a schoolboy error. duh! cheers.
This link should help out: http://donott-lcad.blogspot.co.uk/2010/02/accurately-offsetting-overlapping-uv.html Offsetting overlapping uv chunks is key for baking normals and AO, and can get rid of alot of errors.
hmm, I'm trying to get it to work, maybe I'm missing something. Do I need to load it as a CGFX file? Or is there something else required? Because loading it as a CGFX file seems to just cause errors.
Low Poly update! Finally got round to starting to texturing this, Need to fix some seam errors on the Tires and make a Dirt and wear pass. (edit, also just noticed the double T in doesn't XD)
Nope your website returns 404 error messages on almost every page, sends me to different themed pages, and the only thing I can find is a video under the tutorial section that isn't a tutorial.
thanks everyone here we go, in engine, in marmoset still not totally final bakes, there are some minor little errors to fix but i'll just rebake it overnight sometime, it's close enough right now to texture on
Thanks for the links! I have been for the last few hours, doing trial and error with all of these tutorials, the modular cave is new to me though. Hopefully I will have an update with better rocks by night's end.
Does Zbursh support multiple UV tiles? I didn't think so. Regardless, i love that he has hands growing out of his eyebrows and a sixpack on his forehead, even if it is a baking error
Thanks so much for the kind words! In all truth this is my first fully hand painted model so it's been a lot of back and forth, trial an error type deal. But very enjoyable none the less.
