They have a few in the documentation on their site. You have to log in to see it all though. Yea, Simplygon like almost all simplification tools works on tris only and won't preserve quads or edge flow. I would give my left nut for decent quad-optimizer.

Judging by the error logs, the issue seems to be with your HP right? Also, based on your 2nd screenshot it seems like a UV shell in the bottom right is slightly outside the 0-1 space... Thus the big empty grey square to the right of your UVs in 2D view
5 is a secret In the case of this asset, it's fundamentally a box so I'd just planar map each 'face' the and deal with the little distortion as the logs bend inwards. It'll lod a shit load better that way as well. how big is the panel and what's your desired texel density?

Agreed, I think its lacking some sort of central hero prop. Needs something for the player to say holy S&$# what is that. As far as the lightmass problem I am assuming your using a lightmass volume. Could you post the error log its giving?
It's a long shot, but you could try deleting the Intermediate Cache directory. In theory it's exactly the same as Starbuck's suggestion of using the "clean" function to rebuild from scratch. Also copy/paste the output log here so we can see the exact error. Hopefully there's a clue in there...
Hey nate.. nice demo reel. If you were to change anything about it, I would put "entering the log cabin door sequence" at the beginning. Followed by the vase and chair. I thought it was the most next gen looking stuff. You want that stuff at the beginning IMO.
