I like it! The highlights really help make it come alive, but I think your strokes are too small. Try a larger brush. With the strokes so fine I think it makes the fur a bit too realistic.
love it! for some strange reason, the first thing that popped into my head when I saw this was a realistic interpretation of this guy! Rock and Rule![URL="https://www.cinemaglob.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/OhMy.jpg[/URL]
So then is it common practice in the industry to use photographed textures to add detail to albedo/diffuse maps? Or are there other workflows to create realistic looking textures without using the photographed textures directly? Such as using the photos purely as a reference.
Not to mention, its still laggy as shit, even when he has a high end GPU and 12 cores... Realistic mode in 2012 works fast for me, but I tried activeshade with a Quadcore and GTX570, and it was basically usable.
Hey bud, the first thing i noticed with your scene was a sense of scale. having realistic proportions and metrics can make a huge difference. The door is really throwing me off right from the get go.
Thanks for the comments! The Carpet Material is basically the carpet Material from the Realistic rendering Demo from Epic. I modified it a bit to support color and then painted some masks. But there is really no magic going on, just a looooot of tweaking.
If you want to achieve a realistic result, there´s not only one unique texture for the metal. Metal is a combination of a simple base dark grey color with a detailed specular and gloss map to get nice reflections and specular gradients.
Here's a work in progress, I've been stuck on the hair, trying to figure out what I like the best. I've really been into these close up profiles lately, trying to get a semi realistic human style.
Interesting? Is it a mobile game? I suppose you could just do realistic materials and just skip the normal map. I don't see how this would look good unless characters were tiny on screen.
In a weird way, stylized art is alot of just learning how to srtaight up paint, especially int he case of WoW and League of Legends. https://www.amazon.com/Color-Light-Realist-Painter-Gurney/dp/0740797719
