Hi all. During my career I made a lot of weapns, but not a single M4, so I decided to fix this and make one:) To be honest M4 turned to be one of the most difficult weapons to make b/c it's completely asymmetrical, but I love challenges:) There is still a lot of work ahead, so advices and critics are welcomed
normal maps do not contain height data, they contain "change of angle" data. This is why you need to have beveled edges to show. You would probably benefit from poking through the wiki here: http://wiki.polycount.com/NormalMap?highlight=%28\bCategoryTexturing\b%29
I don't think this is the case, but just to rule out the possibility of it being too weak to show up. Try multiplying your normalmap in the material with a constant 3-vector with these settings: R: 3 G: 3 B: 0.5 If it doesn't show up now, then it's simply not there at all :)
pretty weak return episode IMO. Btw, am I the only one annoyed at the almost insistent use of makeup and FX? Do we really need to see every single knife, axe and sword to the head? It kind of makes it look like b-grade material.
@ Zelfit: Fair point. One of the hardest parts of the project has been interpreting depth and angles from the concept, especially in dark areas. This is partly due to it being a b/w image. This shouldn't be too hard to fix. I'll post an update with this change to see how it compares.
Thank you guys! Hope i will not disappoint you XD Hellstern Hahaha, some epic b... character yeah :D zzMedVeDzz A little bit, yeah :) Here is where i got so far. Lots of stuff to do. Hair and clothes around epicness are placeholders.

Been a while! High-poly is finished It was suggested by a friend that I definitely should overlap as much much of the wings as I can, so I'm gonna go for it HP tri count is sitting at around 1.6~mil. Any sort of comments/feedback are always appreciated B)
8 of them, different size, around a square. Habitations around and stairs behind the square heading to center town. I use MOI, LW 2015, ZB, Heads UVlayout, SD/SP. The final render(...some day) should be done in Vue xstream 2015. B,
Saidin311: You can apply for a TN visa if you are Canadian and hoping to work in the USA. This is how I have received all of my work permits. I am Canadian and I work in the US. TN visas are much easier to get than H1-B's -R
