If you're using a Loft, as you are, then you can assign different cross section splines between steps of the layout spline. Yeah they added edge support in around version 9 i believe. Both 'Modeler' and 'Layout' will be combined for 'Core'. They showed some stuff like sud-dividing to 50 million polies using GPU's instead of CPU's. Some of it looks promising. Actually, the key is to UV it before you turn on the Sub-Ds. The UVs will interpolate, and the high poly UVs should pretty closely match the low poly UVs, with just a little more subdivision in the UV layout, but basically it would look the same. But I wouldn't know how to go about this if you don't have Sub-D capabilities. -

I would do what Ghostscape said. If you want to make texturing easier, you can also separate the UVs of different parts and lay them out. You may also want to look at some unwrapping tools like UV Layout or Unfold 3d. I use Unfold 3d and it saves so much time it is ridiculous. -

To be honest, those drums look kind of lame. Only one pedal? How are they going to do bass and hi-hat on one pedal? And they couldn't make the layout more like actual drums? Maybe I'm being picky because I used to play the drums, but it seems like they spent a lot more time on the guitar than the drumset. -
