You need to choose your Renderer, then you can decide how you want to make emissive effects. Each one does it differently. If u choose Scanline you need to use Radiosity for the Self Illumination to actually cast light. Arnold isn't free, if you want to render offline.… -

To me, anything potentially annoying should be ...hmmm .... not there, or at least turned off by default. I can choose not to buy a TV (I did). Pretty sure you can, open the Input Editor, under Context choose 'contextless', under Edit Mode, choose Tools - then you need to find the tool in the massive list and keybind it to whatever you want. I'm not sure if it'll work for you, maybe it's a custom CFG I've downloaded, but I can increase/decrease number of loops… -
