I only got to play an hour of the demo last night. My reactions: "Holy sh!t, this is actually real-time battling!" "Wait, I can jump? I can run away from battle by literally running away?" Super impressed, really pumped for the final product now
EricChadwick: Thanks for the tip, will try it out. Have been battling the normals a bit but not so much the vertex normals yet. Ah and for software, im using maya. Your point about baking is true, i still want to be able t rotate the instances. Well, back to battling the vertex normals.
I got to the 2nd boss battle last night and it looks like they are in fact doing some material tricks for skin. It looks like they're doing a color shift/band as the lighting gets closer to the terminator, this could be just for the primary light. At any rate the 2nd boss battle is amazing.
Hi! "Art that tells a story" sounds about right: What has happened, where is he, what's his state? Beat up and exhausted from battle, angry and ready to fight or has just come out of a fight victorious and feeling pumped? Such scenarios can be communicated with pose, so that it comes across in the silhouette. I think not…
The whole plan wasn't for Loki to take over earth but for Loki to prove that earth was a great place to battle, and a worthy opponent for Thanos. Earth being a cosmic battle ground is a huge win for Loki because it will distress his half brother to no end, keeping him off his game. Very well played!
Good start but try to tell a story with the object and it's textures. If it's a axe used in battle show some battle damage. Also look at real axes for reference. YOu have areas that are way too smooth to be believable. Same thing for the wood. The wood wouldn't be cut in such a way for an axe. Use reference. cheers!
Ya i'm planning to make it into a war ship, with smaller cannons scattered through out. Thanks for some idea on the wear and tear of the ship, i'm sure i can do something to make it look like it's been through some tough battles or atleast prepared for said tough battles lol
love the style! totally digging the lighting. The only thing is that I dont' think it would be a great light setup for battle mode tho. For a racing course definitely. I just find if its a battle course. It would be too hectic to pay attention to the art. Racing next to the beach with that light setup would be gorgeous!
[ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSkb0kDacjs"]Woodkid - Iron (Official Video) - YouTube[/ame] Always thought this was fantastic battle music, the rhythmic drums and everything. I think its kind of a shame assassins creed used it, while not the worst game I think it would better suit a viking/battle game.
New idea. ORNN! Hell yeah! Love him. Ornn and his raging Lava (Ha, lava again, who knew) elemental busting into raging battle epicness. Taking place in the snow among battle debris and in front of a large unidentifiable (could be a secret weapon could not be, I don't know ;) ) building.
