If you're using axis constraints, you should be grabbing the gizmo's axial arrows (or the right-angle square created by two axes) rather than the center circle. Grabbing the little circle is equivalent to moving your selection through all three axes at once, which is essentially an unconstrained transformation.
Thanks for the reply, guys.I know how to do that. What I meant was how do u change the rotation axes of a group if the rotational axes is aligned correctly especially if the object is bent and u freeze the transformations.I know how to fix this for an object in Maya but how do u fix this for a group?
Hey there nice one. One thing I would point out is be weary about Olaf holding his axes too close toward the blade. Looks like is is going to punch the blade into their heads instead of chopping. Lower down the handle would give a better feeling of swinging/chopping of the axe.
@maxivz Looks very promising! I have 3 ideas on this script: 1) Rotate plane to make specific edge horizontal (say, X-axis) or point axis to some vertex or so. 2) Aling camera to workplane and make it orthogonal 3) The primitives are created with local axes matching the axes of the plane. One of your gifs show the cub…
Are you limiting the chest to full sets? Wards? Couriers? Singles? Personally I'd think limiting it to single items might not be bad as more artists can contribute and as a big sign to Valvo that we want single items back. No more Pudge hooks or Axe axes pls though. I'm thinking that I need to make a page on the Hattery…
Maybe try adding more variance to the color of the jacket and the pants, a stripe or something on the jacket maybe? And I should try changing the axe handle to a wood texture, I know fire axes are all red but it might look more "natural" and break things up a bit more.. Looks really nice, keep up the great work! Just my 1…
@moose - Loving the textures Im a newb to all this modelling lark but heres the beginnings of a small scene im working on which pretty much involves an axe stuck in a tree (itll hpefully be more interesting than that) Super quick update - basic paintover for the axe, will work into this; this is literally just a CB…
Expanding on the axe-gun comment I made before: I feel like you could take pretty much any sort of long rifle that can mount a bayonet, and place a sort of axe attachment over that area. An SKS or maybe a SIG SG 510. It's your call though of course. :poly129:
Thanks Spacemonkey, thanks Trevor. Really appreciate the kind words. :) Update: Did a few additional passes on the Axe set thanks to some really great feedback. Have to say that Axe's head is one of the most challenging slots I've dealt with in a while. Ended up doing about 6-7 helm passes till I got something I was happy…
"Aaand here's one for the vector operations (choosing the axis along which to execute an operation):" That's where I got the idea that you wanted to scale on an axis. I didn't realize you meant non-standard axes. Yes, being able to control the axis of operation so that it can be done somewhere between axes rather than an…
