Whatever happened to the complete rebuild of Max they showed a few years ago? It was a screenshot of a nearly-blank UI prototype someone showed at a conference, and they said basically "stay tuned". Can't recall the name of it. I don't think it was the XBR/Excalibur thing.

Live boolean could do the trick. It will preserve the existing topology, except for the area where the subtools intersected (that area will be a mess). But you can always smooth over it with the sculptris brush, rebuild the neck with a bridge, or just zremesh the entire thing once it is fused.
Thx for the CC buzzcore, I will most definitely change the rocks since now I can't un-see it either >_< . Thinking about rebuilding the lighting makes me cry a little though. Appreciate the time you took either way, cheers!
A fun productive weekend so far... Rebuilding that iconic scene for my first entry "High Noon Toons"... And having a "blast" with my second entry: "Lost Cow in Space"... (With many thanks to Zach Mertz for making his buildings free in 3DWarehouse)
Yeah, what pior said. I've tried to integrate CAD into my workflow a few times now and while it's great if you nail it the first time around, iterating sucks. Everything gets locked in quickly and changing things basically means rebuilding.
It's the lighting, the IBL on the right is a lot warmer and has it's irradiance computed. Try importing your HDR map and setting it there, then rebuilding your lighting in Unreal. IIRC you need to enable Tessellation shader switch in Unreal for height maps to work/make sense.
