Also assign shortcuts to Edge Loop, Edge Ring and Connect. I have it on Ctrl+1 = Select Edge Loop, Ctrl+2 = Select Edge Ring and I use space key for Connect. And swift loop is awesome! The full version of Maya should have no problem opening a normally saved Maya LT file. There should be no need to export it using FBX. Simply saving it as regular maya file should be enough.
