I would add more geo to the yellow cylinders. Also, those hoses across the path are a massive tripping hazard. They look like they're there permanently, so realistically they'd be built into the floor or go along the ceiling. Other than that, I think you did a cool job!
Hello again I have been slacking with my studies this last week, but here is what I did 45 min. Will add color soon to this one I am really liking the feel of this picture And this gurl, I would liek to rename this thread to limit it to just environments
edit nevermind got my basher axe in ddo and did some work my AO has some pretty bad lines on it even though I maxed out fill seams option in MentalRay baker. I'm guessing I should fix them by hand in photoshop?
Hello again everyone! Some more progress this week. I added some smaller details using Ndo2 and then got some base materials on the model using Ddo. Going to go in now and get some different wear on it and add some decals to match the concept a little closer.
@Kelvin, did you have to do support tubes for the print, or were you able to just dynamesh, scale check, and straight up print everything as one? For me, I'm never quite sure when to separate and peg pieces, or when to add support tubes for printing purposes.
Alright here is an update I did this morning. I decided to take a different approach, more of layered metal look I suppose. I may add some more detail or just leave it low poly and detail it in the texture with bump maps. What do you think?
Looks great so far though I agree with Eric & Asylum that you should up the polys on the legs and add hair planes (eventually). This would be a great idea for a game... bug riders... wasn't there a cartoon or animated feature that did this? Love that you chose a rhino beetle too!
Did you read how I solved mine and try it? Also, are the faces there before you add the material? I'm assuming so. If they are then making the material a Final Blend and turning zWrite to false should fix it right up. If you need help with any of it just ask at school.
great work! how long did you spend on this? My only nitpick is the store front under the "Southern Fried Chicken" sign seems very flat like a picture on a plane. Could definetly add more geo there, unless its just a weird angle on your screenshot
