just select the edges the regular way (no seam marking) break them using Ctrl+B and then relax the whole shell selection. Its almost the same as pelt mapping, all what pelt mapping does extra is pulling out the outer edges in a ring and then relax it.
Cubemapgen can do this http://developer.amd.com/archive/gpu/cubemapgen/pages/default.aspx#b Granted a working photoshop script would be much faster. edit: just tested out Cube Map shuffler that comes with Nvidia DDS tools for Photoshop CS5 and it works fine.
Oh ok good but can I create an image shape and design in B&W to use as a mask if so how do I do or where I can read how to do ? I do not mean to use it as a brush but as a drag draw alpha mask ?
I have already done a fair amount of next-gen work and I can tell you... it's much more about clicking "Render" and looking at B&W images, like Justin said. Indie is way cooler, you actually get to make art.
Hello, Tonight I post the first update for the texture. This is the first pass of colours with some AO, cavity, and (b/w) curvature map for the metal borders. What do you think about this first pass ? (Mesh is at +- 17k triangles.) Next soon. Good evening.
ugh, i dont even want to think about the weeks of trouble i had setting up a wireless network. this was back during wireless-b. i always dreamed of something that would just be literally plug n play and no worries but thats a fucking myth.
Corporations have X hours and Y resources to go after copyright infringement. Just because you know someone who got away with it, it doesn't mean it's OK ... it just means the corporation either (a) didn't see it happen or (b) couldn't allocate the resources to deal with it.
Dude! Is there anything you can't do! My level of respect for you has gone through the roof. I hope you, and those in the accident recover well. I hope that if the a similar situation occurs near me that I can be as brave as you were. ( '-')b
A, B, and D, are my favorites. I think D is the most unique, and reminiscent of a fish. The skirt reminds me of little fins/gills, in a way that makes me feel uneasy. For the heads, I like 4 and 5 the most, though 3 and 6 are close seconds.
Ah these are looking so good! Personally I like 2 and B but I do like the hat colour from 1 as I think it goes well with the colour in the muscle detail. Keep up the great work, I'm enjoying everything you post
