That's more like it :) Cheers. Personally dude, if you get the time, Go check out some fantasy tales/books. Take some inspiration and just make personal alterations. Erabor is indeed an awesome name, you just don't want people viewing your project and going ''hey, wheres the stone dwarves?, where's laketown?'' Like i said…
This cutscene right here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjJNvjAKjJI My first system was a NES and I mainly stuck to platformers. But I got a playstation for chirstmas and rented Final Fantasy 8. I lived on a tiny farm in the middle of nowhere so it was very easy to myself getting severely entranced by the setting and…
"MMO", Blender, a few spelling errors, 1st post... (welcome to Polycount! btw...) and most importantly for a project trying to get help on an art forum, no screenshots of progress made so far. Sadly I don't think you're going to get much of a helpful response around here with that :( For some Blender specific help I…
Really nice thread Teriyaki. Maybe here is something you could add to the list, well it kinda enters in the "detail exploration" section, I don't know : concept artists should think in 3D, and think about how what they are drawing works. I've seen a lot of concepts that just couldn't work in real life, or in 3D. They put…
Jonas: Thanks a lot for the feedback! I definitely agree with you about the wood - I'll try and really push that warped effect with the wood elements! I keep having to remind myself to really push the quirky, fantasy elements of the piece :) Owl: Wow I really appreciate your incredibly thorough feedback, this is exactly…
I was lurking through all of your pages saving an environment piece that inspired me about every other page or so planning on just going on about my day, but then I ended up saving so much I figured i just HAD to comment, i love a bunch of your stuff and some of my favorite are your silhouettes, and even better how you…
You mentioned you wanted some more character in the scene, so i think you just got to write a little story in your head and then build the scene to show it. Maybe it's son and father frying the loin after a successful hunt, maybe they are getting breakfast while laying out all the gear to get ready to go out for the day...…
cool idea, but from what i've seen of the tanning pits, they don't go beyond the ground level. It seems like you have a pretty extensive environment here, so I would keep the tanning pits on the ground which would let you create new and different areas for the upper levels of the city. Oh, and more colors in the pits would…
Cheers guys. EvilPixills Yeah i agree on the monitors, the current texture it's using didn't really have much time spent on it, i was just putting things together to get the feel of the scene. I'll be spending alot more time on this area soon though. passerby The energy cone at the top of the beam is actually a hash job.…
Will any of this increase in profits trickle down to the developers? Unlikely...Would this make some game areas easier to make? Absolutely. Fake ads are for the lose in a "real world" game. As someone once said "if design was easy they wouldn't pay people so much to do it." I'm not a graphic designer and I hate making fake…
