I will be doing the 3rd and the 1st. I like how it also a blend with texturing and modeling. *Great change in pace* As I havent learned to texture imma try to do 2
arshlevon, i had the same thought about the application of this, way of pre baking landscape blends for megatexture style stuff. looks like a really usefull tool anyway, cheers
This is looking good; I like the cracked pavement edges. Your rock models look kind of funky atm - they stand out a lot (or some of them blend in too much).
I always hated God Of War, so somebody wanna tell me why the skeletons bleed more than anything when they explode...? Or are they related to Bones from Q3A?
Draw a grid of grey dots on a black background with an additive blend. If you have normal maps, use them to shift the UVs around to generate the impression of bunching in seams/etc.
I use tattoo, but usually I use it to just sketch out what I want on the model, then paint up the texture in photoshop.Occasionally I'll use it to blend seams too.
It only works in Vertex Mode, which is not really what i want to have, RayCast Selection is a blessing by XSI but i never could find somthing really similar in max...
Oh yeah, and you could control the gradient effect of the final results by tweaking the ramp in order to get a good blending result since you will be composing a final image of several of these.
