1. I'm not sure about separate faces, but you can set a custom axis orientation in the tool settings of the scale menu by click "set to face" and clicking the face whose axis you want to be on and then scale. Or you could use the extruse tool and then delete the edges of the original face after. 2. Don't use Max so I'm not…
I became obsessed by hydrant lately. It's a nice one here! As mentioned by mkZ3R0 the polycount of the side pipes is quite low compared to the main axis of your hydrant. From what I see since you wanted a welded mesh between the main body and the side/front part (which is a good thing) you have been limited by the number…
Table of Contents Image-Based Lighting in Cycles Blend File Image-based lighting is a good way to quickly light your shot to better match a real-world environment. Cycles makes a lot of tools available to help you deal with image-based lights, and I'll show you a few tricks I've figured out. Start by checking "Multiple…
Thank you for the quick reply Warren. I scaled the backdrop and model seperately, having to rearrange the model, scale on other axis since it distorted a bit, and fix the instances. Is there a more efficient way of doing this in modo where I can do them at the same time without distortion? Also, can I refresh the instance…
Axis directional gradient map perhaps? :P Bit too long though. Think of the axises values as your black-to-white values like how the RGB luminance version in Photoshop does it. Then again maybe someone uses some other funky direction other than axises for all I know.
What I mean by offset is that you offset the mirrored model's UV by 1 Uv grid; In other words, the mirrored model's UV are just 1 UV sheet to the right on the x-axis
@josh_lynch Love the multiple pattern inputs, just used it to scatter leaves. My one single gripe I've had with it and I'm sure I missed something, is there an easy way to control the scatter amount? It seems X amount and Y amount does this, but also affects the scale at the same time and it doesn't feel great trying to…
Hello Eishin, Have a couple of notes for you: - The presentation is helping a lot now. - To me , the motion of the body feels right by now. I just suggest that you rotate his body a little bit to the sides since now he is just walking and rotating in just 1 axis. - With my last note I would suggest you offset the movement…
