Well for some reason the vray camera is making the image a little weird. Not sure why. BUT getting closer to the finished (or workable finished product) Im doing a high poly model to learn some different modeling techniques. I wont texture this because of the poly count and besides, before I even think about texturing I…
take a look at this (is for vray but same knowledge applies to mr) http://www.seazo.no/linear-workflow note: just remember that the following workflow (ref image) uses a compositing application, if you do not want or plan to use a compositing application, set your output gamma to 2.2 as well (yes same as the input) If not…
I just use the default scanline i tried the Vray one but EVERYTHING just came out terrible so i gave up on it... i tried the last one on this tutorial... but it failed so i went back to the default scanline... and here i am asking for help... could it be that the High Poly is not touching or inside the low poly?
Yea, I was recommending the 390 heavily because it was super stable with everything I used (Maya/Max/Painter/3dcoat/Designer). At the time, having 8GB of faster VRam for Painter was absolutely crucial for me but I believe the 1070 will fill that role at a relatively affordable price.
Why was Vrav's paint over removed? I really love the design critique and it could of been left as a link if mods didn't want it embedded. Edit: Talked to Vrav, it was him :P
Yep, when it comes to RTT, mental ray is a giant pile of crap that is only good for AO. They've removed Mental Ray from newer releases and are switching to Arnold, personally I prefer VRay or if the company doesn't want to foot the bill for VRay, I'll use xNormal. But I stay the hell away from mental ray. Not only does it…
Sure, I'm working a lot with dynamics (particles and voxels) during my spare time. I work a lot with Vray RT / Mental Ray as well together with 3ds max, so I do a lot of rendering work. I render at pretty high resolutions too so I wonder how a Quadro card could improve my rendering times in terms of simulation and just…
Vrav: I figured it out after I posted (edited it in, you might've missed it), you need to set this in your keymap. Just find the tool, check the relevant box in there and save your user prefs. The sticky key behaviour you're asking for is something I'd like to be able to set globally, though. Or just as a part of a…
After the zbrush screencaps, a proper 3d render with Vray for maya. I changed a few things : the bmx wheels and, following the comments, the way the tail was connected to the body ( I'll post a reverse shot soon ). I added a few things as well.
