Sorry. we have been getting so wrapped up in the game that it slipped our minds. Our game is going to be an FPS with sneaking elements to it. It's going to take place in the present day or near future and is based off of events around the war on Terrorism, but has no real connection to anything that is going on. This takes…

Don't think backstory has to be anything complicated or new. Could apply an existing one just it to get started. Take that Conan character for example: was taken as a child, enslaved, former gladiator (headbutts from that noggin must hurt), now out for revenge. In sci-fi probably. How would all that imprint on the alien?
Adding that bit of patina helped a lot with the textures, however I think you've strayed a little too far from the original design of the armor. Regarding the low poly tri count: your wireframes have lots of room for optimization. For example some of the decorative plates that wouldn't deform at all

I think that I have used material functions as much as I can, but there still is a need for like 10+ unique parameters, seen here: Renaming ten parameters in blueprint graph isn't a huge deal,…
Hi, this is a recurring problem and I don't even know if it has a known technical name and if it's easily avoidable. For example here on this rather simple model, I tried many different things but I can't get a decent result.
Last week I've mentioned about this special SubD modeling technique and promised to write a brief tutorial, so here it is. In a nutshell: Create a low-polygon model and set all the edges that you need to be sharp and crisp to be at 1.0 crease value. To be in greater control of the surface you can also assign weights to the…
