Looks nice overall, it needs more contrast in the specular though. Also, the wood looks rather flat, it could use some extra spec/gloss and possibly more saturation.

Thanks guys, I agree completely. Started tweaking the spec and gloss and also better lights...it already heading in a better direction. Wahlgren, Ill build him a base tomorrow:)
got some advice from "snefer" on the rendering. just a standard modo material with some tweaks on the spec. then its one directional light, GI and AO. I think thats it..
why is there no spec on anything? as for the underground thing. the one major thing i liked about RFG was the open environments. this alien/corridor/dark/techy sort of thing is so generic.
You could definitely write one though. There are several tutorials about Toolbags shading pipeline. Anyways, I think you should just go with a colored spec map.
