I feel the art in the 2nd isn't as good as the first. My problem though is that it's too hard right now. I'm playing it on PC on hard, and I can't stay alive long enough to gather adam the second time.. it's pissing me off...
o wow necro awesomeness kessler :D thanks again dudes, I'm in my 2nd week on the job and its awesome so far. Quite the change from 2 years at a 20 man studio to one with over 200 people :P
http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Lighting-Rendering-2nd-Edition/dp/0321316312 Is great. My favorite is a video though (cause you know save trees) by Jeremy Vickery (Pixar Lighting Stud): http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/store/product/185/Practical-Light-and-Color#.U2AL7vldV8E
This has happened on 2 different machines. Desktop with an ati video card, and a laptop with a gtx 550. Left is painted on diffuse layer 1, right is on 2nd layer. Opacity is set to 43 and I laid to strokes with the projection in green, the one on red using the standard brush.
Really? So there is not need anymore to lay out your own unique lightmap UV's for UE4? Strange, I always thought that you had to do your own. I've tried the UE4 lightmap layout for the 2nd channel but it does not always come out correctly..
1st one and the 2nd one of the second set look good. Cant say whats wrong with the other ones but they look a bit off, maybe too cold or something? Superbike frame looks clean so far, which one is it going to be? got any ref?
Both are great news to me. :) I'm not sure still though if the shading in CE3 makes a lot of use of vertex normals. It's even visible on the 2nd screen, maybe you could try bending them some more, and rotating just as single normals not per vertex?
Some prints at the current UV, I wanted everything with an alpha channel on a seperate texture, so I devided the character in to 3 different textures. 1st one is the alpha texture, 2nd: body plus a little extra, 3rd: accessories. 2 1024x512 1 1024x1024
Here are some of my recent (and perhaps a few old) works These 2 are my more recent paintings. These 2 are speedpaints (mostly). The 2nd one took a lot longer. One of my older works... I somehow don't know how to paint like this again...
stuff looks great, really gets me excited for it :) Also really great to see the mobility stuff in action instead of a quick demo of the things you can do. The bit when the soldier vaulted up to the 2nd floor and started grenade-ing people ruled.
