By this, are you referring to the shininess of the model? Having just looked up lambert lighting, I have now discovered the diffuse shaders so thank you!
Here's an environment I started. Doing something cartoony and stylized with some hand painted textures. Just started the diffuse maps. I'll be posting the progress.
No, there is no ao pluged in - it was composed with diffuse in photoshop (the effect is on screens 1-3). I'll do it from scratch another way to figure out what's up.
