Hey guys, I feel I've got this to a point where I can finally get some feedback on it. I feel as though apart from adding more finer details, that I'm 95~% finished with this. I hope you enjoy it and I look forward to seeing any feedback or critique.
So after being away to long due to school, I managed to free up some time to finish up the 416. She is 95% done with just a few touchings and some cleanup and then it is off to low poly. Art dump to follow:
I would probably try to take up at least 80%-95% at least, if not just add some text in there for info detail lol. If its absolutely impossible to avoid splitting it up and causing a nasty seam that will ruin the textre then just leave it.
Zbrush has a see through mode which will reveal anything behind it ..like your reference. It helps with quick ref alignments for things like faces. Go to you lowest subD and hit wireframe and put see-through to 95. Keep at it.
I loaded it up this morning before work to make sure the download finish correctly... just stunning! Bit-Tech just gave it a 95: http://www.bit-tech.net/gaming/pc/2011/05/17/the-witcher-2-review/2
generally speaking, you have to remove any vertex that doesnt define a shape, eg. all of those on the edges of the front face. i dont have time to go into detail, but if you follow this advice, you can get this optimised to 95% :)
Ubisoft were talking about a 93%-95% PC game piracy rate as justification for their draconian DRM. That's probably an exaggeration, but the numbers are up there. Incidentally Frell, if you pirated GTA4 I can't say that I'm overly sympathetic to your plight.
I only do this as a hobby, its expensive but I so enjoy it, 95% is personal projects other 5% is usually for church projects (motion graphic type stuff). Never sold anything, primary work is in IT (Networking) for over 20 years.
High poly at ~95%Not quite pleased with the hair sculpt and there are some wobbly bits I want to straighten out. After that it's time to bring the belt to the same level as the rest of the character and model his pistol. (shivers) Had some fun with the composite...
I'm working on a 80s B-movie/Miami Vice inspired character for a 2.5D platformer shooter. The hires sculpt is 95% done but i'm having trouble with the fabric creases and hair, the face and might need some revision as well. Any constructive criticism or advice would be greatly appreciated.
