Yeah, will definitely get some decals in there bugo. Thanks for the suggestion. Thanks for the suggestions arrangemonk, will throw in some makeshift repairs to sort out those broken windows.
3D painting currently works with mask-type layers or color paint layers. Decal stamping is not included yet, but is definitely planned on our list of upcoming features.
Ah, the image above is actually in engine!! Not a paintover! Anyways, still cracking on this. Working on the decals now as well as a couple of other issues with lighting, the skirts for objects, etc.
Close to the end for this project. The only major things left are all decals maps, wiring and I have to get the camera depth fade to work with the light shafts.
Yeah this seems like the solution. I took a closer look at Final Fantasy IV and noticed they used gradient decals for bright areas, as the one in the example image.
Little update, now onto the back drop, then decals, then lighting and then back to the little assets and adjust the front door. It's really happening, think I might finish this :)
Think of the memory! Think of the memory! I'm not heavy on the programming of games but I imagine those decals need to go away to save memory you know =P
Thoughts on the materials? I'm using Substance Painter. The height decals were made in Photoshop in black and white and used as brush alphas. The stickers were made in Photoshop.
Thanks GrungyStudios! I got a wallpaper material going, uses two tilable texture a set of 4 decals. and also a fireplace baked down ready to be textured
