Small Wip, Not sure where i wanna go with the level of polish on that one. So I'll kept it WIP and move on to other piece, I think the rest will help me define him more. Here's some of the stuff I noticed in your work, just needs some adjustments to get the likeness better. I always find it works if I do some paintovers over my model to see how I can improve it, so did the same for yours, using the penguin pic as main ref, just something very quick. Hope this helps you abit. -

Also consider how your character is going to deform and how that will effect the look of the tattoo. Lets say you put a dragon tattoo in a deforming area and suddenly your awesome tattoo transforms into a dolphin fucking a penguin... you're going to be yelled at. I bring it up because there are times character artists work… -

Thanks! I'm going to work on it a bit more (I've rounded it out right now, but it's still fairly flat)in the coming weeks by doing various heads + textures. But right now I need to focus on my texturing / painting since I'm sure a penguin could do a better job than me :s -

Look up "Render Farms". The animation studios use several to render out a 3d film. They run 24 hours a day and generally are located in different parts of the world. Killer stuff. If you were trying to nail the concept look in your final render pass, I would suggest giving the overall scene a much yellower/orange overlay to try to get that. Ill second penguin and say that the foliage is the sore thumb at the moment, but I really think its needed so give that a bit of love. Good work my… -

blegh no offense the tattoos of the side pieces I dont care for. Middle and one with maybe a arm tattoo of a sort is better in my opinion :) Question the shoes : did you take a base shape sculpt a bit and use the extraction brush? Or did you model basic chunks per part your sculpting out? Also penguin/prinny thing rocks :p
